HMS Albion Model Ship
The HMS Albion was a Canopus-class pre-dreadnought battleship.
The HMS Albion was a Canopus-class pre-dreadnought battleship, commissioned on 25 June 1901 at Chatham Dockyard by Captain W. W. Hewett of the Royal Navy.
The Albion had a complement of 750 and an armament of 32 guns and 4 underwater torpedo tubes.
The Albion served at the China Station until 1905. The Albion then became part of the Channel Fleet until 1907, after which she started her service with the Atlantic Fleet.
The Albion saw action in 1914 in the operation against German Southwest Africa, as well as the Dardanelles campaign against the Turks, supporting the landing at Gallipoli.
Up until 1916, the Albion remained in the Mediterranean after which she returned to the United Kingdom for service as a guard ship for the remainder of the war.
The HMS Albion was scrapped on 6 January 1920.
