Eendracht was a 57-gun ship of the line.
This model ship of the Eendracht was custom built from the following information:
The Eendracht was a Dutch full-rigged, 57-gun ship of the line for the Confederate Navy of the United Provinces. Jan Salomonszoon van den Tempel at Dordrecht built the Eendracht in 1655. She was launched in January 1655 with an armament of 57 and a complement of 409.
The Eendracht became the flagship of Lieutenant-Admiral Jacob van Wassenaer Obdam. She had a successful service in the Northern Wars and defeated the Swedish fleet in the Battle of Sounds in November 1658.
The Eendracht was later fitted with 73 guns, and in the first battle of the Second Anglo-Dutch War, the Battle of Lowestoft, she was in a duel with the much heavier 80-gun English flagship Royal Charles. The Eendracht shot and killed a number of courtiers on the English ship, but in the early afternoon of 13 June 1665, she was hit in the powder room and exploded, killing Van Wassenaer Obdam. There were only 5 survivors out of the crew of 409.
